First Class Begins

The participants of this class have been very anxious to begin their training. They all got a taste of being involved with the City and our First Responders through the Southlake Citizen's Academy. The CERT class will prepare them for any natural disaster that may come our way as well as any other major disaster the City may experience. The class will be trained on Emergency First Aid, Fire Suppression, Light Search and Rescue and Disaster Psychology.
The participants will have disaster kits that will contain a helmet, work gloves, goggles, mask, first aid bandages, flash light and tools. This bag will have supplies added to it based on each participant's own needs. They will also learn the importance of being prepared for storms and emergencies.
